Verizon is going all in on LTE and there is nothing you can do to stop it. They are investing tons of money and buying spectrum like it is going out of business. The biggest addition is the requirement that all future devices need to be LTE equipped. Besides push–to-talk and budget devices all phones, tablets, and smartphones need to be rocking sweet sweet LTE. Verizon is encouraging not just iPhones’ and Androids’, but also Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 to jump on the 700 MHz train.
On Sept 15 Verizon finally launched LTE in El Paso Texas. I have been eagerly waiting on the deployment of LTE since the estimated “summer” time-frame but a little late is better than never. I went out and tested how wide the coverage is as well as average speeds throughout the city. I am happy to report that Verizon has done an excellent job. Continue reading

Not much info on this rumor, but if you are awaiting an LTE phone on AT&T’s growing network this may be it. The specs for the Samsung Impulse are mum, but if it’s comming from Samsung expect a SAMOLED Plus screen and a dual-core processor. Feast your eyes on the picture for the time being.
